The spark that started the culinary fire for me came at an odd time. I was recovering on the couch from a rumpus New Years Eve in 2001 and found an Iron Chef Japan marathon on television. I had never seen people cook with such intensity and speed and I was hooked (on cooking shows at least) and couldn't get enough. I decided to attend culinary school in 2002 and quickly realized that I was born to cook. I already had strong roots in entertaining guests from the countless dinner parties my grandparents would host but now I had a way to feed them!
After working my way through some of the best kitchens in the Bay Area (Boulevard, Spruce, etc...) with a short stint at Scharffen Berger Chocolate Factory to round out my skills I started Spencers Pantry. For 14 years I got to create 6 course tasting menus in different spots in the Bay Area. I now work for a single family and could not be happier!
